Johnson Tabbed as Preseason Player to Watch

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Minot State senior forward Holly Johnson was selected as the Preseason Player to Watch, the NSIC announced Wednesday.

The Minot, N.D. native played three seasons at North Dakota State, including earning Honorable Mention All-Summit League honors in 2014-15 before transferring to North Dakota.

Minot State was picked 16th overall by the league coaches in head coach Mark Graupe's first season. MSU Moorhead registered 10 first place votes and 213 total points to secure the league's preseason favorite position.

The Beavers were picked eighth in the North Division with 12 points while MSU Moorhead locked up the first position with 47 points.

MSU returns plenty of experience in four starters and 11 letterwinners from last season's squad. Kari Clements and Madison Wald return for their junior campaign after averaging 10.7 and 10.3 points per game to lead the team last season.

Minot State is scheduled to begin the regular season hosting Rocky Mountain College on Friday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Minot State Dome.
