BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Minot State junior outside hitter
Brileigh Boyce was selected as the Preseason Player to Watch, the NSIC announced Thursday.
Boyce enters her junior campaign after recording 84 kills, 55 digs and 23 blocks her sophomore season.
Minot State was picked 16th overall by the league coaches in head coach
Dana Cordova's first season. Concordia-St. Paul registered 10 first place votes and 218 total points to secure the league's preseason favorite honor for the 14th consecutive season.
Southwest Minnesota State's Taylor Reiss was named the NSIC's Preseason Player of the Year.
The Beavers return plenty of experience in six starters and eight letterwinners from last season's squad.
Shelby Spuller and
Emily Falldorf return for their sophomore campaign after notching 221 and 200 kills, respectively to lead the team last season.
Minot State is schedule to begin the season hosting the Minot State Classic, Sept. 1-2, opening with South Dakota School of Mines & Technology at 3 p.m.
