Senior guard Mariah Payne has been excellent this season for the Minot State women’s basketball team and her efforts have earned her recognition as Minot State Athlete of the Week.
Payne had two very good performances last week at home against Valley City State and UMary.
Versus the Vikings, she scored 20 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the field and 3-of-7 from three-point range. She added one free throw in two attempts. Payne also registered four assists, two steals, and six total rebounds as the Beavers won the game 71-57.
In the conference opener on Saturday against UMary, Payne led the Beavers in scoring again with 14 points. Mariah also grabbed three rebounds, made four assists, and made the only three-pointer of the game for Minot State.
This is the first time Mariah Payne has been named Minot State Athlete of the Week.
