Nathan Baca has been named Minot State of the Week for his upset victory in the Beavers' latest dual versus Upper Iowa.

In the 165-pound match, Baca squared off against UIU's Brock Benitz. Going into the match, Benitz was ranked 4th nationally in that weight class.

Baca started the bout behind as Benitz recorded an early takedown. Nathan countered with two escapes to keep the margin in reach and tied the score in the third period with a reversal to send the match into overtime. Baca then took advantage of a fatigued Benitz and made a quick takedown followed by a pin for the upset victory by fall in O.T.

This is the first time Nathan Baca has been named Minot State Athlete of the Week.
