(MINOT, N.D.) – Whitney Hanson has been named Minot State Athlete of the Week for her record-breaking performance on the track this weekend.
 
Hanson, a true freshman Montana-native, set Minot State’s all-time 800m Run record at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Grand Rapids, Mich.
 
She ran an incredible 2:18.06 and finished 12^th overall at GVSU’s stacked meet.
 
Hanson’s record surpassed the previous mark set by former Beaver Erica Clark in 2016.
 
This is the third time Hanson has been named Athlete of the Week.
