Nate Gutierrez

Nate Gutierrez is entering his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Minot State University soccer team. He specializes in individual and team defending tactics. 

Gutierrez assists in all coaching and recruiting aspects for Minot State as well as game film analysis. 

In 2017, Gutierrez helped coach the Beavers to a 12-5-2 overall record and an 11-3-1 record in NSIC play. Following the season, Minot State tied the school record with seven players being named to the All-NSIC team.

Minot State and Gutierrez achieved another milestone in 2016 as the Beavers captured the 2016 NSIC Championship going 14-0-1 to earn the school's first-ever NSIC regular season title. MSU tied its team record from the season before with 16 wins, going 16-3-1 overall. The Beavers qualified for its third NCAA Division II National Tournament and it second straight appearances in the NCAA Central Region.

Minot State finished the season second in the NSIC in goals (45), shots (373) and shots on goal (165). The Beavers had seven individuals earn All-NSIC with Ninfa Ramirez earning Offensive Player of the Year.

He helped coach the Beavers to a 16-5-1 record and a third place finish in the conference standings in 2015. MSU ranked third in goals scored (38) and fourth in goals allowed (17) in the NSIC. 

In his second season with the Beavers Gutierrez helped the team defense rank in the top three in the NSIC, allowing just 17 goals with a .89 goals allowed per game, an improvement from his first year with the team when they allowed 1.33 goals per game. 

In 2014 Gutierrez coached both a U-10 girls and a U-11 boys team to a NDSA State Cup championship.

Before coaching Gutierrez played soccer at Yuba College and represented California north in the Olympic Development Program. He was named first team All-Conference in the Bay Valley Conference during his time at Yuba.
