Chayse Jackson enters his third season as the head assistant coach on the Beavers staff in 2020-21. Before coming to Minot State, Jackson spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Dubuque and one season as a volunteer to Grand Canyon University.
Jackson has helped coach the Beaver program to significant improvement over the last few seasons. The Beavers had a historic 2018-19 season with three academic All-Americans, four Super Region V place-winners, and a school record two national qualifiers. In 2019-20 The MSU wrestling team recorded a DII era record six dual wins, as well as victories over three top 25 programs. The wrestling program also received its first ever DII National Ranking at #23. Jackson has also been active in student-athlete academics, helping the Beavers to 7 Academic All-Americans and 10 NSIC All-Academic recipients.
Prior to Minot State, Jackson was a four-year starter and two-time team captain at Grand Canyon University. Following a season-ending injury during his senior season, Jackson became a volunteer coach for the Antelopes. He helped coach three National Collegiate Open All-Americans and one national champion during his tenure at GCU.
During his two years at Dubuque, Jackson helped to coach the programs first NCAA Championship qualifier in five years when Quincy Kalkbrenner qualified at 157 pounds. He also was active in study hall and game management operations.
Jackson, who is from Roseburg, Oregon, was a High School state champion and a two-time junior Greco-Roman state champion.
