The Minot State Dome is the home of the Beaver men's and women's basketball teams, volleyball team and wrestling team. The Dome is the largest arena in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is one of the largest arenas in the Upper Midwest. The Dome can hold 10,000 fans with all of the bleachers being used.

The facility is used for much more than just athletic events, as it houses classrooms, Minot State Athletic offices, an eight lane indoor track, racquetball courts, locker rooms and concessions stands.

Built in the early 1980s, the Minot State Dome has played host to many big events throughout it's history. It is often used for regional and community events such as the Special Olympics, high school track & field meets, Minot State graduation ceremonies, concerts, conventions and the biggest event- the North Dakota Class B Boy's Basketball Tournament.

The Minot State Dome also is home to the Beaver men's and women's track and field programs and features:

  • A 6 lane, 160-meter competition track
  • Horizontal jumping pit with 140-foot runway
  • Competition pole-vault runway and box
  • Dedicated throwing space with a cage and ring for shot put, weight throw, and discus

As part of the commitment Minot State has made to the athletic programs, efforts are being made to keep the Dome in top shape with planned renovations and improvements.

In the summer of 2019, all of the seats were replaced, and the concourse was renovated to add bar-top seating.

In 2015 Minot State installed the largest indoor video board in NCAA Division II on the North end to highlight in-game action and replays. The university again contracted with Daktronics, Inc., on the display continuing a partnership with the premiere video display company in the country. Daktronics also installed the video replay system at Herb Parker Stadium in 2012.

The video board in the MSU Dome has a 19 x 33-foot video panel that features live video, replays and can accommodate a live scoreboard or in-game statistics. The overall construction features "Minot State University" prominently with 3-foot high lettering across the top of the board along with six founding partner advertising placements and two Anchor Partner advertising panels for a total 45 horizontal and 25 vertical feet. The Founding Partner panels are backlit displays that measure 7.5 x 6-feet, while the two Anchor Partner panels are 4 x 16-foot backlit displays.

The Minot State Dome is one of the top facilities in the nation at the NCAA Division II level. With continued support and care, it can continue to host great events and be a great place to take in an athletic event.
