For the second time this season
Ninfa Ramirez has entered her name in the records for the quickest goal in school history with an assist from
Sydnee Canales. This time, against Minnesota State Moorhead, it took just 50 seconds to get a point on the board for the Beavers.
Earlier this season Ramirez scored a goal with just 92 seconds ticked off the clock. Those two times currently sit at second and fourth on the all-time list for fastest goal scored.
"Ninja really got us going today," said head coach
Jason Spain. "It was a great win. Everyone played well."
Following Ramirez's lead the Beavers were able to score three more goals to go up 4-0 at the half. With one final goal in the second half Minot State left Moorhead with a 5-0 victory, its largest margin for a win this season.Â
Scoring the second goal as well, and her 14th of the season, Ramirez (F, Jr., Perris, Calif.) scored again at the 12 minute mark. 20 minutes later
Taryn Love (F, Fr., Minot, N.D.) scored her fourth goal of the season. Both the second and third goals were unassisted.
Love wasted no time helping the Beavers get on the board again as she assisted a goal less than seven minutes after scoring her own. Rimke Eurlings (M, Fr., Lanaken, Belgium) scored off the pass from Love for her second goal of the season with six minutes left in the first half.Â
Scoring the final goal of the game, and only goal in the second half, was
Meagan Kawahara (M, RFr., Riverside, Calif.) scoring her first goal of the her career at MSU.
Minot State (13-3-1, 11-2-1) was able to put 15 of their 22 shots on goal while MSU Moorhead was limited to just five shots on goal, taking nine total shots.Â
Splitting time at goalkeeper for the Beavers were
Celene Johnson (Sr., Rocklin, Calif.) and
Leila Torres (Jr., San Bruno, Calif.) who each played 45 minutes. Johnson finished with three saves while Torres totaled two of her own.Â
Minot State will play again on Sunday against Northern State at Herb Parker Stadium at 1 p.m.Â
