MARSHALL, MINN. – The Minot State University wrestling team lost in its second dual of the weekend against Southwest Minnesota State University.
The highlight of the match came from true freshman
Hunter Hart (197, Gallatin Gateway, Mont.) who recorded his first career pin as a Beaver. Hart battled Ashton Bartlett for 48 seconds before the referee slapped the mat to declare the match over. The Montana native now has a career record of 3-5.
Cody Haugen (149, So., Minot, N.D.) was the other Beaver who came out on top in his match. With a 9-4 victory, Haugen tallied two takedowns, a near fall and an escape.
MSU forfeited the 125 and 133 weight classes and were pinned three times throughout the dual to result in the final 39-9 score in favor of the Mustangs.
Minot State will compete again on February 10 at 7 p.m. when they visit Dickinson State.
