MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's soccer team earned the fourth seed for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament and plays host to fifth seeded UMary on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. at Herb Parker Stadium.
The winner is set to face the winner of Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth on Friday, Nov. 3 with time and location to be determined.
Quick Kicks
Minot State defeated their first Top 25 team in school history in a double overtime win over No. 13 Minnesota State on October, 22 2017.
Freshman
Sofia Lewis leads Minot State with 29 points, including NSIC-leading 12 goals on the season.
Haley Berryman and
Jordyn Cook have added seven and five goals, respectively, while
Kelli Creese has notched four goals.
Berryman has dished out a team-high six assists, followed by Lewis and
Ashley Franco with five and four assists, respectively.
Minot State is third in the NSIC with 41 goals scored and a +31 goal differential this season.
Goalkeeper
Erin Rafferty has totaled 66 saves and is 12-4-2 on the season with a .53 goals-against average and a .868 save percentage.
Lewis earned NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 2 while Rafferty was selected as NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 23.
Scouting the University of Mary Marauders
The University of Mary finished the regular season with an 11-4-2 overall mark and 9-4-2 record in the NSIC. Jade Smith and Megan Lowery lead the Marauder offense with seven goals apiece while Caylin Cathey has scored six goals. Cathey has dished out a team-high six assists.
Goalkeeper Hannah Smith is 9-4-2 on the season with a 0.91 goals-against average and .812 save percentage.
Head coach Sarah Cook is in her sixth season leading the Marauder program. Cook has registered a career record of 38-52-15 in her six years of coaching.
Series History
The Beavers and Marauders have split their first nine all-time meetings, 3-3-3. Mary edged Minot State 2-1 in their regular season match on Sept. 3 in Bismarck, N.D.
