Box Score SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Minot State women's soccer team improved their record to 6-0-2 in season openers, as they defeated Black Hills State Thursday night, 6-0.
The Beavers relied on their newcomers with all six goals coming from a player new to the program in 2017.
Freshman
Jordyn Cook scored the first goal for Minot State in the third minute off the defender's back into the upper right corner, her first collegiate goal of her career.
In the 13
th minute, junior
Haley Berryman snuck one into the goal off an assist from
Meagan Kawahara.
The third Minot State goal came from
Morgan Myers in the 34
th minute. Myers scored the ball through the right side of the goal off a pass from
Daniela Fonseca.
Freshman
Sofia Lewis scored from the top of the box in the 47
th minute to score her first collegiate goal of her career. Lewis responded with her second goal in the 50
th minute, scoring off an assist from
Sydnee Canales.
Scoring her second goal of the night in the 85
th minute, Cook found the net from ten yards out after receiving a pass from Canales to wrap up the scoring for the Beavers.
Minot State returns to action on Sunday, as they travel to Bismarck, N.D. to open NSIC play at University of Mary. The match begins at 1 p.m. with links to live stats and video posted on msubeavers.com
