Box Score WAYNE, Neb. – The Minot State women's soccer team posted its second consecutive shutout as the Beavers defeated Wayne State 2-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Saturday afternoon.
The win pushes the Beavers to 2-2-1 (1-1 NSIC) on the season while the Wildcats drop to 1-2-2 (0-1-1 NSIC).
The Minot State offense attacked early, as the Beavers fired three shots in the first two minutes, including one that hit the crossbar from
Haley Berryman.
Senior
Kelli Creese broke the scoreless tie in the 13
th minute off a free kick from 25 yards out.
Freshman
Sofia Lewis scored her team-leading third goal of the season from 20 yards out in the 63
rd minute.
Ashley Franco was credited with the assist, her first on the season.
Goalkeeper
Erin Rafferty posted her second consecutive shutout in the goal for the Beavers. Rafferty recorded two saves to help improve her record to 2-2-1 on the season.
