Minot State Hosts Minnesota Crookston, Visits Bemidji State

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State women's soccer team opens the weekend hosting the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles at 7 p.m. on Friday night at Herb Parker Stadium.

Following Friday night's match, the Beavers will travel to Bemidji, Minn. to take on the Bemidji State Beavers on Sunday at 1 p.m. Links to live stats and video are available for both games on msubeavers.com

Quick Kicks

Freshman Sofia Lewis leads the Beaver offense with three goals scored this season, followed by fellow freshman Jordy Cook with two goals.

Haley Berryman, Meagan Kawahara, Morgan Myers and Kelli Creese have all scored one goal apiece.

Junior Sydnee Canales leads the Beavers with two assists.

Kawahara, Ashley Hunter, Daniela Fonseca and Ashley Franco have recorded one assist this season.

Goalkeeper Erin Rafferty has totaled 19 saves and is 2-3-1 on the season with a 0.64 goals-against average and a .826 save percentage.

Scouting the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles

The Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles enter Friday night's match with an 0-5 (0-3 NSIC) record this season. The three Golden Eagle goals have been scored by Nikki Dogan, Jessica Scott and Jessica Withrow. Maggie Peterson and Ellie Brettschneider have recorded one assist apiece.

Goalkeeper Olivia Puttin is 0-5-0 on the season with a 4.34 goals-against average and a .617 save percentage. Puttin is seventh in the NSIC with 29 saves this season.

Head coach Joe Alianiello is in his sixth season leading the Golden Eagle program with a record of 21-60-14. Alianiello has posted an overall record of 56-120-21 over his 11 seasons of coaching.

Series History

Minot State leads the all-time series with Minnesota Crookston, 4-2-1. The Beavers defeated the Golden Eagles 2-1 in their last meeting on Sept. 22, 2016 in Crookston, Minn.

Scouting the Bemidji State Beavers

Bemidji State comes into the weekend with a 5-0 (3-0 NSIC) record this season. The Beavers play a road match at UMary on Friday before hosting Minot State on Sunday afternoon. Rachael Norton leads the NSIC with six goals scored on the season. Dani Nelson has recorded three goals while Allyson Smith leads the NSIC with four assists.

Goalkeeper Anna Fobbe is 3-0-0 on the season with a .40 goals-against average and a .800 save percentage. Catherin Arneson is 2-0-0 with a 0.00 goals-against average and a perfect 1.000 save percentage.

Head coach Jim Stone is in his 16th season at the helm of the Beaver program and holds a career record of 157-117-24.

Series History

Minot State holds a 6-4 lead in the all-time series with Bemidji State. In their last meeting, MSU won 1-0 on Sept. 25, 2016 in Minot, N.D.
