Minot State Hosts Top-Ranked St. Cloud State for Friday Dual

MINOT, N.D. – Fresh off of its second win of the season, the Minot State wrestling team will host No. 1 ranked St. Cloud State on Friday (Jan. 19) in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference dual in the Minot State Dome.

The Beavers improved to 2-6 on the season with a 28-8 victory at Dickinson State last Friday in a non-conference dual. Minot State posted eight individual wins in the dual led by Tanner Crissler who won by fall and Mitchell Eull who posted a major decision victory.

Minot State also received wins from Dean Arevalo (125), Zach Berry (157), Carlos Toledano (165), Tyler Sharron (174), Keegan Berry (184) and Briley Crissler (197). Minot State closed the dual by winning the final seven bouts.

The Beavers will face a stern test on Friday as it welcomes St. Cloud State, who is the top-ranked team in the nation, to the MSU Dome.

St. Cloud State, which is 12-0 on the season, features eight wrestlers who are ranked among the top 10 in the nation led by Larry Bomstad who is ranked number one at 157 pounds.

Minot State, which is 0-2 in the NSIC, is paced by Eull who has posted a 15-2 overall record in the heavyweight division. He has a 7-0 record in dual meets and is 4-1 against NSIC foes this year.

Zach Berry is second on the team with 14 wins at 157 pounds and has posted a 14-6 overall record. Arevalo and Briley Crissler are tied for third on the team with nine victories, while Toledano has six wins on the year.

The dual will begin at 7 p.m. in the MSU Dome.
