MARSHALL, Minn. – Marco Antonio Ramirezlazos, Dean Arevalo, Zach Berry, Carlos Toledano and Mitchell Eull all recorded victories for Minot State, but the Beavers lost to Southwest Minnesota State 23-17 on Saturday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference dual in the PE Gymnasium.
 
Minot State, which dropped to 2-14 overall and 0-5 in the NSIC, jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the dual.
 
Arevalo defeated Taylor Curtis 5-2 at 125 pounds and Ramirezlazos followed with a 4-3 decision over Brock Buysse at 133 pounds.
 
Trent Butcher and Justin Haneke posted back-to-back falls giving the Mustangs a 12-6 lead.
 
Zach Berry defeated Cortez Arredondo at 157 pounds by a 4-2 decision to bring the Beavers to within 12-9.
 
Toledano then tied the match at 12-12 when he defeated Kegen Fingalsen by a 6-1 decision.
 
But the Mustangs responded by winning three straight bouts to take a 23-12 lead heading into the final bout.
 
Eull finished the dual with a dominating victory over Ben Thompson at 285 pounds. He recorded a 15-0 technical fall win to notch his 22^nd victory of the season.
 
Minot State will face Mary on Friday (Feb. 9) in Bismarck, N.D. before hosting Northern State on Feb. 13 in the Beavers home finale.
