BISMARCK, N.D. – Senior Mitchell Eull tied the Minot State school record for career wins, but No. 22 Mary rallied to defeat the Beavers 16-15 in the inaugural Battle for the Barrel dual on Friday in the McDowell Activity Center.

Eull defeated Dominic Tudor 3-0 in the heavyweight bout to move into a tie with Steve Lipp for most career victories with 85. Eull used an escape and a takedown in the third period to notch the record-tying win.

In a dual befitting the rivalry, Zach Berry put Minot State ahead 15-13 when he posted an 11-5 win over Chris Leatherman at 157 pounds.

In a bout that was plagued by stoppages, Phillip Springsteen edged Carlos Toledano 10-8 at 165 pounds to secure the win for the Marauders.

After Austin Eichmann defeated Parker Osterman 6-4 in the opening bout of the dual the Beavers responded with four straight wins to take a 12-3 lead.

Keegan Berry topped Jackson Schichel 6-1 at 184 pounds, Briley Crissler defeated Emmitt Brooks 7-1 at 197 pounds, Eull earned his record-tying victory at 285 and Dean Arevalo beat Nate Humann 15-13 at 125 pounds.

Mary responded by winning the next three matches before Zach Berry won at 157 pounds to set up the clinching bout between Springsteen and Toledano.

Minot State dropped to 2-15 overall and 0-6 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, while Mary improved to 7-6 overall and 4-3 in conference.

Minot State will conclude the home portion of its schedule on Tuesday (Feb. 13) when it hosts Northern State at 7 p.m. in the MSU Dome.
