MINOT, N.D. -- One of the more demanding road trips of the season awaits the Minot State soccer team as they travel to Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches this weekend. The Beavers will meet Concorida-St. Paul on Friday (Sept. 28) at 7 p.m. and then face Minnesota State on Sunday (Sept. 30) at 12 p.m.
Minot State enters the match against Concordia-St. Paul with an overall record of 4-2-2 and a conference record of 2-2-1. Concordia-St. Paul is 5-0-2 overall and 2-0-2 in the NSIC, while Minnesota State is 5-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 entering the weekend.
After scoring 18 goals in the first six matches of the season, Minot State failed to find a marker against both Wayne State and Augustana. The Beavers still rank 39th in the nation in total goals scored (18) and are 29th in DII in total points (53).
Sofia Lewis continues to pace the Minot State offensive attack as she leads the NSIC in assists per match (0.63), assists (5), points (17) and is tied for the conference lead averaging 2.13 points per match.
Haley Berryman is second on the Beavers with four goals, while
Jordyn Cook has tallied two goals to rank third on the squad.
Sydnee Canales has scored one goal and is second on the team with three assists.
Audrey Wilson and
Cinthya Samaniego each have two assists for Minot State.
Erin Rafferty has made 27 saves in goal and has a 4-2-2 overall record. She currently ranks 65th in the nation with a 0.83 goals against average.
