(MINOT, N.D.) -- The Minot State soccer will host another round of games this weekend at Herb Parker Stadium. The Beavers will take on the University of Sioux Falls on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7:00 p.m. and Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday, Oct. 20 at noon.
Sunday's game against SMSU will feature two ceremonies of recognition. Prior to the start of the match, the Minot State seniors will be honored for their memorable careers. Then, at halftime, the soccer program will recognize Bob Sando as the primary benefactor in the renovation of the locker room.
In their last game, the Beavers were defeated 3-1 in a snowy game at Bemidji State last weekend (10/11).
Series History
vs. Sioux Falls
- Minot State leads the all-time series with the Cougars 9-1-1.
- The Beavers won the first ever meeting between the teams by a score of 1-0 (10/13/10).
- The only draw in the series came in the most recent match last season (10/12/18).
- The Cougars have only scored two total goals against the Beavers dating back to 2012.
- Minot State has outscored Sioux Falls over the course of the series 25 goals to seven.
vs. Southwest Minnesota State
- The Beavers lead the overall series against SMSU 7-2.
- The Mustangs won the initial match versus Minot State 2-1 (9/15/10).
- Minot State came out victorious in the latest game by outscoring the Mustangs 2-0 last season (10/14/18).
- The first two games in the series ended in overtime with each side winning one of the first two matches.
- The Mustangs have not beaten Minot State since their 4-0 drubbing in 2013.

Sioux Falls
- USF enters the weekend with a record of 2-8-1.
- The Cougar offense is led by Grace Held who has four total point on two goals, six shots, and six shots on goal.
- Lily McKown and McKayla Philippi have also been formidable threats for the Cougars' offense with one goal, one assist, three points, and eight shots on goal each.
- Junior keeper Alexis Wemhoff has been a mainstay in goal with 51 total saves ad 12 goals allowed.
Southwest Minnesota State
- The Mustangs enter the weekend with respectable records of 6-4-0 overall and 4-4-0 in league play.
- Southwest Minnesota State is led by senior forward Alli Miskowiec with 14 total points on 37 shots and six goals.
- In goal, Jenna Meyer and Jessica Craigmile have both been key components of the Mustang defense. The two keepers have made a combined 116 saves while allowing 42 scores.
