Beaver Soccer Unable to Capture Third Straight Victory

(FAYETTE, IA.) -- The Minot State University soccer team was defeated on the road at Upper Iowa University on Friday evening. Upper Iowa was able to have a strong offensive showing leading to the 2-0 Beaver defeat. 
  
After a scoreless first half, the Peacocks were able to score in the 69th minute on a goal by Leah Willenbring, and the 79th minute when Aimee Sies was able to find the back of the net. 
  
Minot State's offense couldn't capitalize by scoring on a day in which they were outshot 25-8.
  
Beaver goalkeeper Erin Rafferty made eight saves. Sofia Lewis, and Melanie van Walstijn were the Beaver offensive leaders combining to produce six goals, and three shots on goal. 
 
With the loss, Minot State's overall record dropped to 3-10-0 overall and 3-7-0 in NSIC play. Upper Iowa improved its season record to 3-7-4 overall and 3-5-3 in conference action.
  
Minot State will be back in action on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. as they look to win their third of four matches when they take on Winona State University in Winona, Minn.
