(MINOT, N.D.) -- The Minot State wrestling team will be hosting their first home event of the season this weekend. Rival UMary will visit the MSU Dome on Sunday, November 24 at 5:00 p.m.
The match on Sunday is the Beavers' first dual of the 2019-20 season. Despite hosting UMary, this first dual is a non-conference match as the Beavers and Marauders will see each other again later in the season.
Sunday's dual is also Lou Trombetta Memorial Night as the MSU wrestling team will honor alumni.
Series History
- The Marauders lead the dual history against Minot State 10-4.
- UMary has won the last seven matches against the Beavers.
- The Marauders came out on top in last year's dual 20-18 in Minot (1/24/19).
- Minot State's last win over UMary came in 2014 when they won 23-17.
- The Beavers also won the very first dual between these two teams 24-18 (11/11/10).

- The Beavers have not competed in a dual contest yet this season.
- In their first three opens, the Beavers showed promise and depth.
- Sophomore Shadi Mitwalli wrestled to a championship at the Cobber Open in Moorhead last weekend.
- The Beavers have also seen improvement and solid wrestling from athletes like Jake Belland, Dean Arevalo, Joseph Lopez, Zach Berry, Keegan Berry, and others.
Scouting UMary
- The Marauders are 1-0 in duals this season as they defeated Concordia (Minn.) 28-6 earlier this season.
- UMary wrestling has many contributors including Chandler Mooney, Gerardo Jaime, Dominic Tudor, Payton Hume, Jeremy Leintz, Braydon Huber, and Dante Springsteen.
- Leintz, Huber, and Springsteen were all champions at the Cobber Open.
