MINOT, N.D. – Coming off its win over No. 25 Northern State last weekend, the Minot State wrestling team carried the momentum into Wednesday night's dual vs. Dickinson State as the Beavers ran away with a 33-12 win at the Minot State Dome.
The Beavers improved to 4-9 on the season while the Blue Hawks drop to 0-5.
How It Happened
- Minot State opened the scoring in the first class as Dean Arevalo won by a forfeit to give the Beavers a 6-0 advantage.
- Oscar Nellis suffered a 15-8 setback in the 133-pound class, allowing the Blue Hawks to trim the MSU lead to 6-3.
- The Blue Hawks tied the dual at six when Jamie Mullins posted a 7-1 win over MSU's Jered Sublet.
- The Beavers propelled ahead by six points when Tanner Crissler pinned Matt Carlson with 0:21 left in the second period.
- DSU's Taner Stone pinned Max Miller with 0:25 remaining in the first period to bring the dual to a 12-12 deadlock.
- Minot State took back the lead in the 157 class after Nathan Baca notched a 4-0 decision.
- Anthony Raupp escaped with a narrow 9-8 decision over Tavian Del Rosario to extend the Beaver lead to 18-12.
