MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State denied Minot State's attempt at picking up their first NSIC series win of the season as the Mavericks notched a 7-0 shutout victory over the Beavers on Saturday night in Mankato, Minn.
 
The Beavers are now 8-9 on the season and 2-3 in NSIC play while the Mavericks improve to 13-6 (5-3 NSIC).
 
How It Happened

• The Beavers and Mavericks limited each other's opportunities as the game was locked in a scoreless tie through five innings.
• Minnesota State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the sixth inning before pouring on four runs in the seventh to take a 6-0 lead.
• The Mavericks added a run in the eighth inning to post the 7-0 series-clinching victory.
