Minot State Wrestling Looking to Snap Skid at UMary

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State wrestling will make the trip to Bismarck to take on the Mary Marauders tomorrow night. The dual opens with a junior varsity match at 5 p.m. and varsity action begins at 7 p.m.

The Beavers are looking to snap a two-match losing streak after dropping contests to Northern State a week ago and UMary before that.

UMary's last time on the mat was when they squared off against Minot State on Jan. 15. Their dual against MSU Moorhead last weekend was canceled. The Marauders are 1-1 for the season.

MATCH NOTES

BATTLE FOR THE BARREL
UMary leads the all-time series 12-5. The last rendition of the rivalry went to the Marauders by a score of 20-13 in Minot.

Minot State has lost the last two duals with UMary dating back to last season.

The Beavers' last win over UMary came in November of last season with a 19-16 win in the MSU Dome. That victory was the only one for Minot State in the last ten match-ups with the Marauders.

ONWARD BEAVERS
Minot State battled against a tough Northern State team last week despite dropping the team competition.

The Beavers were led by their bookends, Oscar Nellis and Jordan Will, as well as their other heavier grapplers, Keegan Berry and Dustin Swisher.

Berry has been the most consistent wrestler for the Beavers this season as his win was the third of the year. The MSU senior is the only undefeated wrestler for Minot State thus far.

READY THE CANNONS
The UMary squad has not been on the mat for dual action for nearly two weeks.

In their last dual, the Marauders defeated Minot State and were led by their lighter weights, Laken Boese and Anthony Velazquez, plus a last-minute substitute in Dom Tudor at 285 pounds.
