CLAREMORE, Okla. -- The Minot State University baseball team played its fourth game in four days on the road and could not keep Rogers State off the scoreboard as they drop today's game by a 13-5 final.

The Beavers slip to 1-3 overall and have dropped three straight games after an impressive start to the road trip against Northwest Missouri State on Monday. Rogers State improves to 3-1 overall and has won three straight games after dropping the season-opener against Northwest Oklahoma State on Sunday.

Minot State got on the board first in the top of the second inning when Matt Malone singled to center field scoring Kaiden Cardoso after Cardoso reached on a single to right field to lead off the inning and advanced to second base on an error by the right-fielder.

Rogers State answered with two runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Hillcats got their rally going with an infield single by Brandon Bradshaw who reached on an infield single. Brooks Betcher and Kyle Simms followed with walks to load the bases with one out in the inning. Victor Ciniceros singled to center driving in two runs and pushing the home team in front 2-1 through two innings.

The Beavers weren't done battling as they scored two more runs in the top of the third inning and grabbed a one-run lead through three innings. Jackson Pokorney singled to left to open the frame and then scored on a throwing error by the shortstop to tie the game 2-2.

Later in the frame, Malone doubled down the right-field line with two runners on scoring Gunnar Kozlowitz and pushing the Beavers in front 3-2 through three innings in Claremore, Okla.

After a scoreless fourth inning that saw all six batters retired in order, the Hillcats scored eight runs combined between the fifth and sixth innings to grab back the lead and extend it to 10-3.

MSU managed two runs in the top of the eighth inning but the damage was done as Rogers State piled on three more runs in the bottom half of the frame and walked away with a 13-5 win.

Pokorney had a great day at the dish, batting 3-for-5 with one run scored, one double, and two RBI. Malone also had a very solid day with the bat, as he went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Branden Hatley (L, 0-1) is charged with the loss in relief after tossing 3.0 innings and allowing only one earned run with two strikeouts.
