ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minot State University softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.
The Beavers fall to 10-10 overall on the season and 3-3 in conference play after dropping three of four so far on the road trip to Minnesota. MSU was able to salvage Game 2 of yesterday's doubleheader against Minnesota State but is on the losing end of a doubleheader sweep today against the Golden Beavers of Concordia-St. Paul.
The Golden Beavers improve to 10-8 overall and have started conference play 4-0 with two-game sweeps over UMary and Minot State.
Gabi Dawyduk (L, 1-3) took the loss in Game 1 after allowing three earned runs on eight hits over 4.1 innings with just one strikeout from the circle.
Zoya Robbins (L, 2-3) was saddled with the loss in Game 2 after allowing five earned runs over 2.1 innings.
Isis Cabral was the only Beaver to drive in a run for the entire day with her two hits in Game 2 and RBI single in the first inning to give Minot State an early 1-0 lead.
GAME 1 | Concordia-St. Paul 5, Minot State 0
The Minot State Beavers were not able to record a run against Concordia-Saint Paul pitcher sophomore Bryanna Olson on Saturday and were shut out 5-0 by the Golden Bears.
Freshman Gabi Dawyduk started and took the loss in the circle for Minot State (10-9, 3-2). Sophomore Zoya Robbins was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit.
In the batter's box, the Beavers were led by senior Julia Suchan, who went 1-for-3 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Minot State went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. The Beavers last got a runner on third in the second, when sophomore Lauryn DeGuzman made it 60 feet away from scoring with two outs.
GAME NOTES
» Minot State pitchers faced 29 CSP hitters in the game, allowing six ground balls and nine fly balls while striking out two.
» Suchan led the Beavers at the plate, going 1-for-3.

GAME 2 (5 innings) | Concordia-St. Paul 9, Minot State 1
The Beavers had a tough showing in Game 2, falling to the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears 9-1 despite the efforts of senior Isis Cabral, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Sophomore Zoya Robbins started and took the loss in the circle for Minot State (10-10, 3-3).
Offensively, the Beavers were paced by Cabral, who went 2-for-3 on the day with an RBI. Sophomore Jamie Odlum furnished a standout performance as well, going 2-for-3. Sophomore Maggie Mercer also chipped in for Minot State, putting together two hits in two trips to the plate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Minot State got an RBI single from Cabral, scoring Odlum from second base. The Beavers were unable to hold the lead, as Concordia-St. Paul scored nine times over the remaining four innings to grab the 9-1 win.
