MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Beavers wrapped up a perfect preseason slate in dramatic fashion on Saturday.
Playing their second and final exhibition game before opening the regular season next weekend – as Minot State hosts Regis (Colo.) on Friday night at Herb Parker Stadium in the regular-season opener at 7 p.m. – the Beavers made a strong second-half charge to erase a one-goal deficit and net a 2-1 exhibition win over host Concordia College.
"We started a little sluggish after an hour rain delay but were able to create some good chances the first half," Minot State coach
Chris Clements said. "The second half we got more organized going forward and were able to create two goals."
Trailing 1-0, the Beavers got on the board when
Sarah Upton headed home the ball off a corner kick by
Mel van Walstijn, evening the score.
Minot State then got the game-winner from
Jordyn Knipper for the 2-1 victory to close out its exhibition season. Complete stats were not available.
The Beavers get one more tune-up before hosting the Rangers on Friday in the season opener as Minot State plays a scrimmage Monday afternoon at NSIC foe the University of Mary.
