SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Minot State completed the weekend sweep in conference with a 2-1 victory over Sioux Falls (1-6, 1-3 NSIC) Sunday on the road at USF Sports Complex.
The victory improved the Beavers to a 5-2-0 record overall and a perfect 4-0-0 in NSIC action on the year.
How it Happened
MSU opened the scoring when Melanie Van Walstijn scored her first goal of the season in the ninth minute.
The Beavers added another score on a goal from Sofia Lewis -- her fourth goal of the season -- in the 26th minute, assisted by Tiffany Schennum.
Sioux Falls got on the board to make it a 2-1 match on Ellie Ripperda's 66th-minute goal. The score capped the 2-1 game.

- Maddie Kindred totaled six saves for the Beavers out of seven total Cougars shots.
- Minot State added 13 shots on goal.
The Beavers will finally trek back home after three back to back to back road trips to face off in front of Beaver Nation for only the second and third time this season. The Warriors of Winona State (3-3, 2-2 NSIC) will make the journey to MSU Friday Oct. 1st with kick-off set for 3 p.m. to start the weekend. The Beavers will wrap up the weekend at home with a game against the Upper Iowa Peacocks (5-1, 3-1 NSIC) Sunday Oct. 3rd at noon. With the Peacocks loss today and a Bemidji State tie, the Minot State Beavers currently all alone at the top of the NSIC standings.
