MINOT, N.D.- The Minot State men's hockey team (4-0) plays host to the Midland Warriors (0-2) this Friday and Saturday nights as the puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. each night at the Maysa Arena.
The Warriors are coming off of a sweep to the hooves of the Central Oklahoma Bronchos on the road, first losing 6-2 followed by a narrow 4-3 setback. Both Ryan Donovan and Tommy Wardas have found the back of the net two times each to lead the Warrior scoring. The Warriors split each game amongst two goaltenders with Ondrej Patha getting the nod the first night, allowing six goals with 20 total saves. Nahuel Veyan got the start the second night posting four goals allowed while making 29 saves.
The Beavers are coming off a two game sweep over the nations fifth-ranked team in the Liberty Flames. The Beavers won by scores of 4-2 and 2-1.
Joey Moffatt has been the leading goal scorer for MSU netting four goals and two assists for four points.
Davis Sheldon is the only other multiple goal scorer for MSU with two goals, but
Reid Arnold has tacked on another solo goal for the Beavers scoring.
Jake Anthony has occupied the MSU net for all of the seasons action thus far. Anthony has allowed seven goals while making 87 saves on the year for a 1.75 goals against average.
The Beavers will face an already familiar foe this season following their matchup with the Warriors. The Beavers travel to Jamestown to square off against the Jimmies (2-2) Friday Oct. 28th at 7 p.m. before the rematch on Saturday at the Maysa Arena in Minot at 3:45 p.m.
