MINOT, N.D. – One day after seeing the visiting McKendree Bearcats steal a win, the Minot State women's hockey team got even with a dominating performance at the Maysa Arena.
Jordan Ivanco made 21 saves for her first shutout of the season and the 15th of her career - giving her the all-time record for career shutouts at Minot State - and the Beavers got goals from three different skaters as they scored a 3-0 victory on Sunday.
Matayah Metz scored the game-winner with 8 minutes, 36 seconds gone in the action off a
Makena Welby assist, then the game stayed a 1-0 contest into the third period.
With Ivanco turning aside shot after Bearcat shot, the Beavers (4-2-0 overall) final gave her some insurance as
Jordan Kulbida scored off an
Ensley Fendelet assist with 3:18 gone in the final stanza, then
Sydney Spicer iced the win with a power-play goal with 1:53 remaining.
Denali Sigurdson and Welby assisted on the final goal of the game.
The win sends Minot State into a two-week break on a high note as the Beavers next host the University of Minnesota at the Maysa Arena on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 3:45 p.m.
