Minot State's Kindred sets another shutout record in scoreless draw at Bemidji State

BEMIDJI, MN -- Minot State senior goalie Maddie Kindred led the way with four saves Sunday for her 11th shutout of the season, breaking her own single-season school record as the Beavers played to a scoreless tie at Bemidji State in NSIC play at Chet Anderson Stadium.

The draw moved Minot State's record to 8-2-7 overall and 8-1-4 in NSIC action. Combined with a tie by Concordia, St. Paul, Minot State clinched a home playoff game for the first round of the NSIC Tournament and will host that quarterfinal contest on Monday, Oct. 31. Time and opponent are yet to be determined. 

Minot State concludes the regular season at the University of Mary at 5 p.m. on Thursday and can clinch a home playoff berth with a win over the Marauders.


How it Happened

Minot State totaled six shots in the scoreless tie, three of them on goal. The Beavers faced 11 Bemidji State shots, four of them on goal. The shutout for Kindred was the 23rd of her career as she also holds the career shutout record at Minot State.


Coaches Comments
"Good game, we started strong and had control early on," Minot State coach TJ Perez said. "Second half started fast as well and we created some quick opportunities.

"We had to dig in defensively and Kindred made some great saves and the whole team put in good work to cover spaces."
