FREMONT, Neb. – Locked up in a battle of Top 5 teams, the Minot State women's hockey team came up short on Friday.
The fifth-ranked Beavers (6-3-0 overall) were shut down by host and fourth-ranked Midland, falling 4-0.
The Warriors scored once in the first, then added two goals in the second period before icing the win with a third-period goal.
Jordan Ivanco finished with 39 saves in net for Minot State, which was outshot 42-26.
The two teams face off again on Saturday in Nebraska with puck-drop at 6:30 p.m.
