MINOT, N.D. – Minot State's Nina Sandoval led the way Saturday with a pair of pins as the Beavers continued their debut weekend at home hosting Jamestown and Saskatchewan in the Beaver Bash Duals.
Sandoval won by pin in 1 minute, 24 seconds in her first match against Saskatchewan, then added a pin in 1:26 in a second, extra match against the Huskies.
Despite the pair of wins, the Beavers fell 25-15 to Saskatchewan, and lost 33-11 to Jamestown.
Sandoval also earned a win by forfeit against Jamestown, as did Aurora Anderson at 170 pounds, while Jazmin Gorder added a point to the team score against the Jimmies in her 123-pound match despite losing by technical fall, 12-1.
In the match against Saskatchewan, the Beavers also got a pin from Gorder at 123 pounds in 1:25.
Having made their historic home debut, the first-year Beavers continue their season on Dec. 4 wrestling in a dual at Jamestown.
