MANKATO, Minn. – The Minot State Beavers are set to take on the Bemidji State Beavers in the NSIC Championship Sunday, Nov. 6th, at 1:00 p.m. Minot State looks to upset No. 24 Bemidji State in the finals.
Minot State enters with a 9-2-9 overall record after taking down Minnesota State – Mankato in the semifinals Friday afternoon. The Beavers advanced on PK's (4-3) after a scoreless regulation period and two 10-minute overtime periods. Goalie, Maddie Kindred, made a career-high 11 saves and Chloe Allan had four shots in the game.
The Beavers of Bemidji State advanced to the NSIC Championship after defeating Augustana 2-0 in the semifinals. Bemidji State was led by Sara Wendt and Allyson Smith, each scoring one goal in the match. The Beavers enter the finals with a 13-2-5 overall record in the 2022 season.
The first meeting of the battle of the Beavers ended in a 0-0 tie. Bemidji State out shot Minot State 11 to 6 (4 to 3 on goal) earlier in the season. Bemidji State will make its second consecutive appearance in the NSIC Championship, after losing 4-2 against Minnesota State – Mankato in 2021.
The winner of the NSIC title on Sunday will have an automatic berth to the NCAA National Tournament.
