Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bemidji State uses PK to snap Minot State's shutout streak and beat Beavers for NSIC title

MANKATO, Minn. - It certainly didn't have to end, and Minot State definitely didn't want to see the streak end, but a penalty kick finally snapped the Beavers shutout streak.

After not allowing a goal in 10 straight games, a run stretching 1,100 minutes and 25 seconds, it was Bemidji State that scored for the first time since September against the Minot State soccer team, netting an overtime goal on a penalty kick that helped propel Bemidji State to a 2-0 victory in the NSIC Tournament Championship game.

With the win, Bemidji State (14-2-5) secured an automatic berth to the NCAA National Tournament.

As for Minot State (9-3-9 overall), the Beavers will have to wait and see about their nationals' fate as the NCAA selection show will be Monday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. (CT) online at NCAA.com.

Minot State's Maddie Kindred, Daisy de Boer, Chloe Allan, and Rebecca Storr all were named to the NSIC All-Tournament Team following Sunday's game
