DICKINSON, N.D. –
Jake Swirple,
Cannon Potts, and
Brendan Barnes led the way, each remaining perfect for the Beavers who did the same, rolling to a 38-9 win over in-state foe Dickinson State on Saturday in a non-conference dual.
The win moves Minot State to 3-0 on the year in duals as they head to the University of Mary for a non-conference dual Sunday against the NSIC rival Marauders.
Minot State's heavyweight and dual-sport star, Swirple, provided one of the many highlights on the day for the Beavers as he improved to 5-0 this season and 19-0 in his collegiate career with a 15-0 technical fall win in his match.
He was one of three Beavers who continued a perfect season as Potts did as well, improving to 10-0 with his win by pin in 3 minutes, 30 season at 174 pounds.
And improving to 6-0 this season competing at 165 pounds was Barnes, who earned a 17-2 technical fall victory.
Of course, the rest of the Minot State roster racked up the wins, also, as
James Davis (133) and
Dustin Swisher (197) each added a win by pin,
Logen Fischer (133) added a win by technical fall,
Oscar Nellis (125) won a 17-6 major decision, and
