CHADRON, Neb. – Minot State's
Nina Sandoval continued to lead the way for the Minot State women's wrestling team, picking up a pair of wins by pin Saturday as the Beavers put up a strong fight in duals against Hastings and Chadron State.
Sandoval recorded a pin in 43 seconds in her 155-pound match against Hastings, one of three wins the Beavers picked up in a 28-16 setback against the Mustangs.
Aurora Anderson and
Madison Parson each added wins by forfeit in the dual for Minot State, and
Zoe Desloges added a team point in her setback at 116 pounds.
Against the host Eagles, the Beavers got three wins by pin led by Sandoval who pinned her opponent in 4:18 at 155 pounds.
Jazmin Gorder added a win by pin at 123 pounds in 2:17, and Parson picked up her second victory of the day, also a win by pin in 2:18 in her 191-pound match.
Minot State lost 35-14 to Chadron State in the dual.
The pair of duals wrapped up the Beavers schedule for the 2022 calendar year as Minot State next returns to the mats on January 8 when they are back in Nebraska competing at the Hasting's Open tournament.
