BISMARCK, N.D. - Minot State heavyweight
Jake Swirple kept his collegiate career perfect and
Kelby Armstrong remained unbeaten on the season as both picked up a win Sunday in a non-conference dual at NSIC rival the University of Mary.
Those were the lone victories on the day for Minot State, though, as the Beavers lost their first dual of the season, 25-6 to the Marauders.
Minot State (3-1 duals) now is off until after the new year when they wrestle at the Western Colorado Open in Gunnison, Colorado, on January 6.
Swirple moved to 6-0 this season and 20-0 in his collegiate career with a 2-1 decision over Mary's Luke Tweeton in their 285-pound match.
Armstrong added the other Beaver victory in his 159-pound match, earning a 4-3 decision over Leo Mushinsky. Armstrong improved 4-0 this season with the win.
