Beavers fall in defensive battle in WMCH semifinals

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. - The Midland Warriors seem to have the Beavers number of late.

For the third time in eight days, the Warriors topped the Minot State women's hockey team, this time scoring a 2-0 win over the Beavers in the semifinals of the Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH) tournament on Saturday, hosted by Maryville University.

The win is the fourth in a row this season for Midland in the two teams' head-to-head series, and second straight shutout for the Warriors who play Liberty on Sunday for the WMCH title.

The setback does not end the Beavers (24-6-1 overall) season, though, as they will be back in action in three weeks playing at the ACHA Division I National Tournament, March 16-20, in St. Louis, Mo.

More details from Saturday's game will be updated when available.
