YORK, Neb. – It's a busy weekend for the Minot State women's wrestling team which returns to Nebraska for the third time this season for two days of action.
The Beavers will compete in duals against host York University, Central Christian College, Iowa Central Community College, and Texas Wesleyan on Friday as part of the York Duals, then compete in the York Open on Saturday.
Action begins at 4 p.m. on Friday in the duals, then the Open tournament gets underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Minot State heads into the weekend still looking for a first dual win in the programs first season of competition, but individually several Beavers are having strong debut seasons.
Leading the way has been
Nina Sandoval at 155 pounds as she boasts a 17-9 record this season. Also having strong first years are
Jazmin Gorder at 123 as she is 10-10, and
Annika Gotlieb at 136 pounds as she is 8-12 this season.
Also in action this weekend will be
Zoe Desloges at 116 pounds,
Madison Parson at 191, and
Angelina Garcia at 220.
Following this weekend's trip to Nebraska, the Beavers get a weekend off before returning to the home mats for the first time in more than two months to host duals with Augsburg (Minn.) and Jamestown on Saturday, Jan. 28.
