ADRIAN, Mich. – For 59 minutes on Sunday, the Beavers played equal with host Adrian.
Unfortunately for the Minot State women's hockey team, a goal in the opening seconds and an empty-net goal in the final minute left the Beavers on the short end of a 2-0 loss against the Bulldogs.
Adrian (7-1-0 overall) scored what proved to be the game-winner 13 seconds into Sunday's contest.
From there, both teams battled without scoring until, with 39 seconds remaining and Minot State's goalie
Haylie Biever on the bench for an extra attacker, the Bulldogs added to their 1-0 lead with an empty-net goal that iced the win.
Biever finished with 36 saves in the game for Minot State (4-6-0), which now returns home to host four straight, starting with Maryville (Mo.) which visits the Maysa Arena this coming Friday and Saturday at 3:45 p.m. both days.
