MINOT, N.D. – The first-ever meeting on the mat between the Beavers and Tigers proved to be a successful one for Minot State as the Beaver women's wrestling team won five matches on the mat on the night en route to a 27-16 dual victory Thursday.

Bella Hernandez,
Haleigh Lematta, and
Michelle Klein earned wins in the dual for Minot State (4-3 duals) while teammates
Reina Koehler and
Ari Korish collected forfeit victories, and
Skye Shelmerdine added one more win on the mats in an extra match for Minot State.
The Beavers next head to Nebraska where they compete in duals Sunday against Adams State (Colo.) and host Chadron State to wrap up the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule.
Hernandez (130 pounds) won by pin in just 13 seconds and Lematta (143) added a pin in 1 minute, 13 seconds for the Beavers in the dual, while Petryna (116) won a 10-0 technical fall, and Klein (17) battled her way to a 5-2 decision.
Shelmerdine (130) then added one more win by pin in 1:01 in an extra match for the Beavers.
