JAMESTOWN, N.D. –
Morgan Baker turned aside 27 shots for the Beavers, leading the way as Minot State blanked in-state rival Jamestown 2-0 on Saturday to wrap up the pre-Christmas portion of its schedule.
The shutout was the second this season for Baker who made 23 saves in a 4-0 win over Jamestown back on November 19
th.
Baker got help offensively from teammates
Makenna Beard and
Krissy Rink who each scored a goal midway through the third period.
Scoreless heading into the final stanza, Beard broke the tie with 7 minutes, 23 seconds gone in the third, finishing off an assist from Grace Perry for the game-winner.
Rink then added a bit of insurance with an unassisted goal with 5:11 left, sealing the Beavers win.
No. 8 Minot State now is off for a month before returning to the ice in January when the Beavers will host Jamestown on January 13 and 14.
