FREMONT, Neb. - The season-opening road trip to Nebraska proved to be a disappointing one for the Minot State women's hockey team.
After falling in a close battle Friday night at Midland, the Beavers dropped their second game of the season 4-0 on Saturday night.
Host Midland scored a goal in each of the first two periods, then the Warriors iced the win with a pair of goals in the final 2 minutes, 54 seconds on Saturday to complete the sweep.
Minot State (0-2-0 overall) was outshot 38-12 in Saturday's loss.
The Beavers return to the ice Oct. 13-14 at the Maysa Arena, making their home debut in a rematch of last March's national championships game, hosting Liberty at 3:45 p.m.both nights.
