DICKINSON, N.D. – The Beavers picked up three wins Wednesday night but it wasn't enough against in-state foe Dickinson State as the Minot State women's wrestling team fell 35-14 to the Blue Hawks.
Minot State's
Bella Hernandez earned a win by pin in 6 minutes, 10 seconds in her 130-pound match over Mikayla Jardine, leading the way for the Beavers.
Haleigh Lematta added an 8-2 decision win at 143 pounds over Mariah Wahl, and
Skye Shelmerdine picked up a victory by forfeit at 116 pounds, rounding out the three Minot State victories.
The Beavers also got a team point from
Madison Parson for her efforts in scoring in her 191-pound loss to Rylee Kogolshak.
Minot State (5-6 duals) now heads home where the Beavers will host the Blue Hawks and the Jamestown Jimmies on Sunday in the inaugural Minot State Women's Open tournament on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. at the MSU Dome.
