HASTINGS, Neb. – Back in action after the Christmas break, the Minot State women started the second half of their second season strong with a 27-17 dual win over the Texas Woman's University Pioneers in a neutral-site dual on Saturday.
Minot State (5-5 duals) picked up four wins by pin on the night in the head-to-head battle with the Pioneers, and also grabbed an injury forfeit victory.
Ari Korish (123 pounds),
Bella Hernandez (130 pounds),
Keela Kary (136 pounds), and
Michelle Klein (170 pounds) each won by pin for the Beavers, who are back in action Sunday in Nebraska competing at the Hastings Open as Hasting hosted Saturday's dual.
Korish pinned Mia Lozano in 33 seconds, Hernandez pinned Laisha Rios in 16 seconds, Kary pinned Jenny Mireles in 2 minutes, 30 seconds, and Klein pinned Kylee Spearman in 2:00.
Julia Petryna (116 pounds) added the win by injury default for the Beavers, who also got a single point each in the dual from
Haleigh Lematta (143 pounds) and
Madison Parson (191 pounds) who both came up short in their individual matches but earned team points for Minot State by scoring.
