MINOT, N.D. - Minot State defeats the University of Mary Marauders 4-1 on Wednesday, October 30, at the Maysa Arena. This win marks the third straight win for the Beavers men's hockey team and improves their record to 6-1-1.
Coming into this game, the Beavers were coming off of a 6-1 against UMary back on Saturday, October 26, in Mandan, North Dakota. Not only is this the Beavers third straight win, but it is also their third straight win against UMary this season as they have beaten UMary in all three of their match-ups thus far.
Colby Joseph got the Beavers scoring started with a goal scored 14:38 into the first period.
Jake Anthony kept the Marauders scoreless in the first period tallying 10 saves on 10 shots on goal.
The Marauders made it a 1-1 game around the half-way point in the second period on a power play goal scored by Joe Gronholz at 10:09 into the period.
Jay Buchholz was the next Beaver to find the back of the net with a goal scored 17:45 into the second period to put Minot State on top 2-1.
The third period was all Minot State as
Jake Anthony held the Marauders scoreless once again.
Joey Moffatt scored his fifth goal on the season at 8:27 into the third period to further Minot State's lead to 3-1.
Logan Rands went on to score the Beavers fourth goal of the game at 18:28 into the third period to make the score 4-1 in favor of Minot State.

Jake Anthony led the way in goal for the Beavers with 23 saves on 24 shots on goal to secure the victory.
The Beavers will be back in action at home for a weekend series against Grand Canyon University on Friday, November 1, at 7:30 pm, and on Saturday, November 2, at 7:30 pm at the Maysa Arena. There will be free admission on Saturday, November 2, with a donation of 2 non-perishable food items.
