OMAHA, Neb. - The Minot State men's club soccer team hits the field in quest of a berth to nationals this weekend, competing in the NIRSA Region V Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Beavers (11-1-0 overall) won the Great Plains Soccer Conference title for the second straight season, and now look for a first berth to nationals. Last fall, Minot State came up just short, losing the Regional title game to Minnesota, 4-1.
This year the Beavers will open Regional pool play against Colorado State on Friday, then play twice on Saturday, in a rematch with Minnesota and against tournament host Omaha, Nebraska.
Four pool winners and two at-large teams with the best record in the 16-team, four-pool regional, advance to the finals on Sunday.
