Beavers host #12 Lindenwood University in two-game set

MINOT, N.D. - Minot State women's hockey is set to host #12 Lindenwood University for a two-game series at the Maysa Arena. On Friday, November 1, the Beavers take on Lindenwood in game one at 3:45 pm, and on Saturday, November 2, the Beavers take on Lindenwood in game two at 3:45 pm. The Beavers are currently ranked #9 on the ACHA polls with a record of 6-2-0, and Lindenwood is currently ranked #12 with a record of 5-6-0. 

The last time the Beavers and Lindenwood University faced off was back on January 27, 2024, which saw the Beavers defeat Lindenwood by a score of 5-0. Historically,the Beavers have had the upper hand on Lindenwood, for the most part, with 4 wins and just 1 loss. The Beavers have won the last 4 match-ups against Lindenwood with the only loss dating back to the first time the two teams matched-up against one another back on January 15, 2022. Both teams are highly ranked to begin the season, so there's some good hockey in store for Friday and Saturday. 

The Beavers are going into this series coming off a huge weekend against, previously ranked, #4 Midland University where they outscored their opponent 7-1. Back on Saturday, October 26, the Beavers took down Midland by a score of 4-1. On Sunday, October 27, the Beavers followed up Saturday's win with a shutout against Midland winning the game by a score of 3-0. The Minot State Beavers have won their last 6 games, and are looking to ride their wave of momentum into this upcoming series against Lindenwood on Friday and Saturday.

Journey Miller is the leading forward in points scored with 4 goals and 5 assists on the season. Paige Kozak is the leading forward in goals scored with 6 goals on the season. Addison Dyck is the leading defensemen in points scored with 6 assists on the season. Paige Ackerman and Makenna Beard are the leading defensemen in goals scored with each having 1 goal on the season. Morgan Baker and Haylie Biever have both been doing a great job in goal for the Beavers. Morgan Baker currently holds a 2-0- record with a 0.977 save percentage, and Haylie Biever currently holds a 2-2 record with a 0.943 save percentage. 

Following this Friday and Saturday's two-game set against #12 Lindenwood, the Beavers will be back in action on the road in the WMCH Showcase in Missouri and Illinois. The Beavers will be competing in three games in three straight days. On Thursday, November 7, the Beavers take on Lindenwood University at 1:30 pm in St. Charles, Missouri. On Friday, November 8, the Beavers take on the University of Minnesota at 9:30 pm in St. Charles, Missouri. On Saturday, November 9, the Beavers take on McKendree University at 5:00 pm in O'Fallon, Illinois. On Sunday, November 10, at 12:00 pm, the WMCH Showcase will end with a WMCH All Star Game in Chesterfield, Missouri.
