MINOT, N.D. - The Minot State Beavers men's hockey team opens up the New Year at home, at the Maysa Arena, in a two-game series against #17 Midland University. Game one is scheduled for Saturday, January 4, at 3:30 pm, and game two is scheduled for Sunday, January 5, at 4:30 pm. The Beavers are going into 2025 with a record of 18-2-3 and are currently ranked #2 by the ACHA. Their opponent, Midland University, is currently ranked #17 with a record of 13-11-1 on the season.
The last time the Beavers were in action was back on December 12, December 13, and December 14, where they competed in 3 games in 3 days in Arizona. Minot State defeated the University of Arizona 6-1 on Thursday, December 12, in game one. The Beavers defeated Grand Canyon University 4-2 on Friday, December 13, in game two. Minot fell to Grand Canyon University in overtime 0-1 on Saturday, December 14, in game three. The Beavers came away with an impressive 2-0-1 record on a tough road trip in which they had to play 3 games in 3 straight days. Minot State will be looking to continue their winning ways throughout the remainder of the season.
The upcoming two-game series against Midland isn't the first time these two teams have met this season. The Beavers traveled to Fremont, Nebraska back on Friday, November 15, and Saturday, November 16, for a two-game road series against Midland. Minot State ended up sweeping Midland in the two-game series with a 6-1 victory in game one on November 15, and a 3-0 victory in game two on November 16. Historically, the Beavers have been extremely successful against Midland boasting a 14-0-0 record over the years. The Beavers will be looking to add to that record against Midland when they match-up against them this weekend.

Following the two-game home series against #17 Midland University, the Beavers will be back in action at home in a mid-week game against #14 University of Mary. This game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, at 7:00 pm at the Maysa Arena for Hockey Booster Night and Youth Sports Night.
